Each time we embark on one of these adventures there’s always a sense of uncertainty that this might be the location that’s just too difficult to pull off. We’ve only ever got a certain amount of time and money to make the best possible show we can with the biggest possible waves we can find… and New Zealand has offered up some our biggest challenges to date.
There’s a reason NZ’s west coast is so untouched… its because its such a mission to get to. We spent a lot of time researching several waves that are relatively unknown and tried to figure out ways of getting a crew of 15 or so people in and out of safely. Lets just say we were happy to do some exploring and find two waves that might provide us with all the ingredients to shoot a great session if the swell gets over 20 feet this season? But the season is drawing to an end and we are still yet to shoot our big wave session at one of the selected locations. Its in the hands of the gods right now people… so fingers crossed everyone
